We’ve not played Space Hulk since everything was painted so thought it would be a good idea to have a game. The kids chose Mission XI – a few Marines in Terminator Armour versus many Genestealers including the Broodlord.
It should be simple right, we just need to get one marine into that room… Er sir, we have multiple blips incoming…
After this encounter it all went down hill, especially when the Librarian ran out of mind bullets.
Fundamentally in our experience to date it’s very hard to win as a Space Marine player!
Had this plastic Terminator in my bits box for a long time so decided to pull together a finished marine.
It is a further test for the fish hook meat hook experiment and there are a few more things I am quite pleased with, I am not quite so sure on: a) the head; b) the force sword; c) the spikes on the carapace; and the site on the storm bolter. I will have to solve these at some point…
Played a bit of Space Hulk with the kids. Still one of my favourite Games Workshop boxed games ever. Highlight of the game had to be this bit where the Genestealer rolled three ones in attack before being turned into acidic mist by storm bolter fire. Let’s get all the figures painted up this year I think!
Back in the day had a lot of time for the original game of Space Hulk. Once we’d played all the default missions in the book we started making up our own and including various Traitor Marine versus loyalist games.
The models and board sections in the latest edition are much more detailed that the original and I’m now getting our kids into this classic game. Should have bought a version where someone else had painted all the figures already!
As always seem to have a multitude of models on the go. They’re sitting at various stages of complete, but some need more work or motivation than others and get reprioritised in favour of something that’s a bit more inspiring.
I decided that I wanted some dedicated close combat terminators and as part of a job lot of figures ended up with some Cataphractii Terminators. These one are all equipped with a pair of lightning claws and in addition to these I’ve five chaos terminators who are going to get clawed up too. Plus I’ve started gathering bits for some thunder hammer and storm shield troops too.
Then there’s the Chaos Warhound Titan. The one that’s sat in a box under the table for months. That was sold as a complete finished model and arrived in bits. Well the new base for that is underway and I’ll start thinking about pinning and gluing it back together now. Just mulling over whether to magnetise the waist joint…
