Finished up these heavy weapons units for the Renegade Militia. Will admit that I bought them based and magnetised so it was a painting only effort.
The tripod on this Autocannon model is magnetised so the heavy weapon can be swapped for a Lascannon or Heavy Weapon as well.
Really like this foxhole model with the traitors dug in. Head and shoulders only!
Made up another squad of renegade militia using the miniatures from the Blackstone Fortress set plus some other bits from the spares box.
The new sculpts are good ones so fine additions to the current troops.
Managed to get hold of some of the miniatures out of the Blackstone Fortress game. These are the renegade psykers.
These are pretty cool sculpts but it makes me want to build a rogue psyker coven so I am going to look for some other models to add to the numbers.
So back when Forgeworld released the Renegade Guard models around 2007 I thought they were some of the best sculpts I had seen but for various reasons I never bought any.
Fast forward to 2018 and the announcement they are going out of production I bought up a set and finally this year painted them up.
And yes they do sit well alongside the 19th Company
More to come once I get around to painting them up.
When Forgeworld announced the were doing a final production run on the chaos renegades I snapped a load up which have been sat in blister packs ever since:
Having decided it was time to remedy this situation I have finally assembled them all and started painting them up. Here’s the command squad:
Plus the Enforcer squad:
I need to find the rules for the enforcers, but they’re a good looking squad.
This squad came up on the Bay of E and was a proper bargain, really well painted too:
I liked the idea of the heavy weapons team, so I’ve bought another three gun team units to convert and paint up too.
I’ve also managed to get my final 10 man squad of renegades into base coat so will get them finished off soon.
This has been sat almost-built and I painted waiting to be finished off for months!
These are the House Liagaun colours I came up with when I invented the household. They seem to have worked pretty well across the range of model sizes so far.
So that’s a pair complete, better get on with the bigger knights at some point…
So after the Castellan Knight Castigaitor, I bought a pair of Warglaives and set about building and converting them. I’m quite please with how this came out so will get the second one finished at some point soon.
I’m still worn on the House Liagaun Heraldry but the pair of facing dragons was chosen to be suitably in-keeping with the rest of the 19th Company.
The emerging spikes were made from a combination of whittled cocktail sticks and horns out of the Citadel skull collection box.
I used some cork for the base to represent larger chunks of stone.
The model has full articulation including the waist and upper body. I’ll take some pics of the method used for the waist when I do the second model.
Had a few thoughts about the stripe pattern on these but am quite pleased with how it turned out. In front profile, there’s not too much colour on show.
After finishing the initial Chaos Knight, I’d felt the need to expand House Liagaun and add in some additional war machines.
The Cerastus Knight-Castigator is a solid looking unit, so I’d been on the look out for one for a while. With a bit of work this one has now joined the ranks.
I’d wanted to make it look a bit more chaotic so added various extra arrows onto the armour plates.
Added some spikes to the carapace armour too.
House Liagaun scarlet and amber stripes with house heraldry and some kill markings.
Black and Blue panels tie into the Night Lords.
Added some extra detail to the head.
