In 1987 Warhammer 40,000 came out. It was known as 40k almost immediately. Those of us who grew up playing Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (AD&D) and then Warhammer Fantasy Battle and other games like Car Wars were quick to make the transition. I’ve never looked back and although over the years the time spent on 40k has waxed and waned the enjoyment of the hobby still remains.
