When the chance to own these pair of Siege Leviathan Dreadnoughts came up I jumped at it. They were part of a larger collection now in the backlog awaiting paint, but these were the first figures I picked up to start painting. Just look at ’em. They’re huge.
I’m going to adorn them with some more chaotic adornments to make them befitting of the Skull Reapers 19th Company theme but I’m going to leave them like this until I have a bit more inspiration.
The arms are magnetised so I can swap in weapons should I decide to. Didn’t come with missile launchers or cables for the siege claws. Suppose I could give Forgeworld a ring about some replacements…
Finished the last few figures after some chainaxes arrived from ForgeWorld.
Krak grenades all around
Mixed armour types
A few customisations including the custom chainaxes.
And as the shoulder pads weren’t an option assault squad markings are on the legs
First tactical squad updated
Aquila pattern armour defaced to eradicate the false emperor’s eagle motif
A few tweaks
Some classic metal parts…
Decided that the skull shoulder pads were quite a thing.
So did the whole squad.
I reckon that they look better.
Here’s an assault squad I’ve been working on with a Chainaxe theme.
First time I’ve used some resin bases and quite like how they have turned out.
I ran out of chainaxes to finish these two off so built some out of chainswords and poweraxes. Chopped up credit card for base decoration…
You’ll have to excuse the random cat hair that made it onto this photo on the Khorne icon standard.
This is a champion for the Skull Reapers 19th Company of the Night Lords Chapter.
A few tweaks to make a non-40k model work in a desolate future world.
Pretty pleased with how this turned out. Maybe he needs a name…
I’m not sure on the rationale between calling traitor Devastator squads Havocs. They’re the same thing. Here is one of my older units – all metal miniatures and a bit of conversion work.
Recently re-based onto 32mm bases still need a few finishing touches to hide the join marks on the base extenders but pretty much finished.
Based up the command Unit on 32mm bases and added a company numeral indicator to the standard.
Did some sketches for squad designate markings, battle banners and kill markers.
Here’s now the tactical markings turned out after many iterations. Relatively simple for replicability and speed. You could imagine a stencil being made up so this could be sprayed on…
When Games Workshop originally created the Night Lords as a traitor chapter the fluff linked them to the chaos god of war. As I bought into this concept all of my chaos space marines have carried the mark of khorne either overtly or as insignia.
As the universe and the narrative around it have been expanded, the chapter has been decoupled from a specific chaotic force – they’re now pitched as renegades without daemonic allegiance. Fortunately the narrative leaves plenty of scope for individualism, so…
The 19th Company of the Night Lords, known as the Skull Reapers maintain their following of the Blood God. They fight along side other Khorne followers such as the World Eaters and the hellish forms that emanate from the Khornate realm.
