Blood Slaughterer

After playing a few games with different unit compositions, I decided that I wanted some more daemon engines, so behold the Blood Slaughterer of Khorne!

Many posing options for this and I wanted something quite dynamic, which took some planning with thinking about how it would be supported by the base as the contact points are all spiky points.

The solution was a combination of firstly drilling a floor tile piece and filling it with green stuff then sticking the spike into it so it looks like the engine is literally piercing the metal work. I did the equivalent into the rubble under the back legs.

Combined this seemed to work really well and once superglued on after painting it is firmly attached to the base.

The colour scheme mimics that chosen for my Venomcrawlers and Archlord Discordant. There’s a lot of brass trim to edge highlight…

The skulls and corpses woven into the sculpt are a really nice touch and I only really discovered them all at quite a late stage in the painting. They are very entangled in the cables.

Overall really pleased with it and not sure if the shooty version might make an addition in the future. There’s no rush for that.
